CABRERA is a small town typical of the Dominican Atlantic coast occupying a pleasant site at the summit of a small headland. From the town there is a good view over the ocean and the nearby cliffs. Cabrera’s small nature reserve (some 2 km before the village), a pleasant quiet area, is an ideal place offering a superb panoramic view. There are also interesting wild beaches in the immediate vicinity of Cabrera.

We are also near Frances Viejo Cape with its nature reserve.

RIO SAN JUAN is located some 60 kilometres to the northeast of Santiago and to the west of the Samana peninsula.
Rio San Juan, a large authentic fishing village still living to the Dominican’s traditional rhythm, offers some very beautiful beaches still relatively untouched by tourism. If you are a lover of fish, this is an excellent stopover and you can also enjoy beautiful walks along by Laguna Gri-Gri, a forest of mangroves where many different types of birds can be seen, in particular vultures. The forest stretches down to the sea.

The town of CABARETE, to the west of Cabrera, is referred to as the windsurfing capital. It indeed offers excellent conditions for this sport, particularly in summer when the wind blows regularly.

Climate: The Dominican Republic enjoys a pleasant climate practically all year round. In the north its humid tropical climate is attenuated in the mountains by the altitude and tempered by the Alizés trade winds.
